Homebase is scheduling, time clock and payroll for hourly teams, priced per business location. FieldTimesheet does one job for electrical shops: clean hours from your crew on each job, a line about what got done, and invoices your customers don't fight.
Homebase is built for hourly shift teams: weekly schedules, a time clock on phones, tablets and point-of-sale devices, overtime and break rules, team messaging and an optional payroll add-on. It is priced per location, meaning per business address, with unlimited employees on paid plans. Basic is free for one location with up to 10 employees, and Essentials is $30 per location per month billed monthly.
An electrical shop has one address and a crew spread across many jobsites. What the office needs from the field is clean hours on the right job, and a record the customer can follow when they ask what three electricians did for two days. Hours alone do not answer that. Hours with a line about the work do: Thu 7:02a to 3:48p, pulled and terminated circuits 12 to 18, second-floor east wing.
FieldTimesheet is built around that line. At clock-out the electrician writes one sentence about the work, and that note goes onto a customer billing packet with the date, who worked, hours, your bill rate and the amount. What you pay your electricians never appears on it.
Below is a straight comparison using Homebase's own pricing and time clock pages, checked October 21, 2026. Where Homebase does more or costs less, the table says so.

Per location, not per worker. Basic is free for 1 location and up to 10 employees; paid plans include unlimited employees.$99/mo for a 10-person crew, month to month
Essentials: $30/mo per location, unlimited employees, billed monthly
Homebase costs less. Its Basic plan is free for one location and up to 10 employees, and Essentials is $30 per month per location with unlimited employees, against $99 per month for FieldTimesheet's Crew plan. If shift scheduling, a time clock and payroll for hourly staff are what you need, Homebase is built for that, and FieldTimesheet does not do scheduling or payroll.
FieldTimesheet is built for a different question: what did the crew do on this job, and can the customer follow it? Each electrician clocks in on a job and writes a line about the work at clock-out, and that becomes a billing packet with your bill rate and never your cost rate.
If your problem is T&M invoices that get questioned, run a real week on the free trial, print the packet for one job, and decide whether it saves you an invoice argument.
It is if what you need from software is clean hours on each job and invoice backup a customer can follow. Each clock-out carries a short note about the work, and the billing packet shows date, who worked, what was done, hours, your bill rate and the amount. It is not a replacement if you use Homebase for shift scheduling, team messaging or payroll, which FieldTimesheet does not have.
Homebase's pricing page, checked October 21, 2026, lists Basic at $0 for one location with up to 10 employees, and Essentials, Plus and All-in-One at $30, $70 and $120 per location per month billed monthly, or $24, $56 and $96 billed annually, with unlimited employees. Payroll is an add-on at $49 per month plus $6 per employee paid. Confirm current prices with Homebase. FieldTimesheet's Crew plan is $99 per month for up to 10 workers, and Starter is $39 per month for up to 3, both month to month.
You can, but there is no connection between the two. FieldTimesheet sends hours to QuickBooks Online only. Some shops keep scheduling and payroll where they are and use FieldTimesheet for job hours and the billing packet that backs up a T&M invoice.
There is no import tool. You add your active jobs and invite your electricians by email, which takes a few minutes for a small shop. Each electrician opens the invite, sets a password and can clock in the same day.
FieldTimesheet connects to QuickBooks Online only. You click Sync on the Time page to send completed entries as time activities, one way, from FieldTimesheet to QuickBooks. If you are on QuickBooks Desktop, use the CSV export and printed reports instead.
No. GPS is recorded with the clock-in and clock-out punches only. There is no live location view. The point is to document the work, not to watch the crew.
