For electrical contractors

An electrician time clock app that records the work

Get clean hours from your crew. Get invoices your customers don't fight. Your electricians punch in from their own phone, and every clock-out comes with one line about what got done.

No credit card required. 14-day free trial. Cancel anytime.

A punch clock gives you hours. Customers ask about the work.

Any time clock app can tell you an electrician was on the job from 7:02 to 3:48. The question on a T&M invoice is what happened in between. Here is the same day, two ways:

In 7:02a. Out 3:48p. 8.77 hrs.

In 7:02a. Out 3:48p. Pulled and terminated circuits 12 to 18, second-floor east wing.

The second line is what the customer needs to agree with the charge. Clock-out, while the work is fresh, is the moment an electrician will actually write it. Asking for it there is the one thing this time clock does differently.

What the clock does on an electrician's phone

  1. 01

    The job is already picked

The clock opens with the electrician's last job selected, or the only job if there is one. Change it with one tap when they move to a new site.

  2. 02

    One tap to clock in

A running timer shows how long they have been on the clock. GPS is recorded with the punch, never in between.

  3. 03

    A note before clocking out

At clock-out the app asks what they worked on. Their recent notes come back with one tap, so a repeat task takes seconds to log.

  4. 04

Missed punches get fixed in the office

An admin can edit an entry or add one for a missed clock-in from the Time page. Entries added there are marked manual, so you can tell them apart from punches.

No app store download

  • Electricians get an email invite, set a password, and clock in from the link. It runs in Chrome or Safari on iPhone or Android.
  • After a clock-out, Android phones get an install button and iPhones get the Share-sheet steps to put it on the home screen. It opens like an app from there.
  • Nothing to approve in an app store and nothing to update on each phone.

What it does not do

  • Offline punches. Clocking in or out needs a signal; with none, the punch fails with an error and any work note stays on the phone until they tap again.
  • Geofencing. There is no automatic clock-in when someone arrives on site.
  • Kiosk mode. Each electrician punches from their own phone; there is no shared tablet clock.
  • Approval workflows. There is no supervisor sign-off step on time entries.
  • Scheduled QuickBooks pushes. Hours go to QuickBooks Online when an admin clicks Sync, one way, and are not attached to a QuickBooks customer yet.

If you need any of those today, compare options first: FieldTimesheet vs QuickBooks Time, vs Clockify.

Where the punches go

Every punch lands on the job it was made for. From there you can print a billing packet for the customer (date, clock times, who worked, what was done, hours, bill rate, amount), run a job cost report for yourself, export a CSV, or push the hours to QuickBooks Online with the Sync button.

$99 per month covers your company and up to 10 workers, then $8 per month for each additional worker.

Frequently Asked Questions

No. The FieldTimesheet time clock runs in the phone's browser on iPhone or Android. After a clock-out, it offers to add itself to the home screen, and from then on it opens like any other app.

Open the clock, check the job (the last one used is already selected), and tap Clock In. A timer runs while they are on the clock. At clock-out they type or pick one line about what got done.

No. GPS is recorded with the clock-in and clock-out punches, never in between. There is no movement trail.

An admin can edit the entry or add one for the missed shift from the Time page. Entries added by an admin are marked manual, so they do not pass as punches.

Punches need a connection. With no signal, the punch fails with an error, any work note they typed stays on the phone, and they tap again once they have bars. Offline punch queuing is not built yet.

Because the note is what gets your invoice paid without an argument. A customer can question 8.77 hours. It is much harder to question which circuits were pulled and where. The note prints on the billing packet next to the hours, and the packet shows your bill rate only, never what you pay your electricians.

$99 per month covers your company and up to 10 workers, then $8 per month for each additional worker. Every plan starts with a 14-day free trial with no credit card. Full details are on the pricing page.
