Head-to-Head Comparison

Connecteam Alternative for Electrical Contractors

Connecteam is an all-in-one app for deskless teams: time clock, scheduling, forms, tasks, chat and HR tools, with a free plan for small teams. FieldTimesheet does one job for electrical shops: clean hours from your crew, a line about what got done, and invoices your customers don't fight.

Connecteam's Operations Hub bundles a time clock with job scheduling, forms and quick tasks. Its pricing page lists a free plan for up to 10 users, and paid plans from $29 per month for the first 30 users. The time clock covers GPS stamps on punches, a map of clock-in locations, location breadcrumbs and geofences on higher plans, a kiosk mode, and connections to Gusto, Paychex, QuickBooks Online and others. For a business that wants one app to run a whole hourly workforce, that is a lot of tool for the money.

The question for an electrical shop billing T&M is narrower. When the customer asks what three electricians did for two days, can you hand them a record they can follow? Hours alone do not answer that. Hours with a line about the work do: Thu 7:02a to 3:48p, pulled and terminated circuits 12 to 18, second-floor east wing.

FieldTimesheet is built around that line. At clock-out the electrician writes one sentence about the work, and that note goes onto a customer billing packet with the date, who worked, hours, your bill rate and the amount. What you pay your electricians never appears on it.

Below is a straight comparison using Connecteam's own pricing, time clock and QuickBooks pages, checked October 18, 2026. Where Connecteam does more, or costs less, the table says so.

Our Verdict

Connecteam is the broader and, for small teams, cheaper tool: a free plan up to 10 users, low flat prices for 30, and a time clock that sits next to scheduling, forms, chat and HR. If you want one app to run the whole crew, it is built for that, and FieldTimesheet is not.

FieldTimesheet is narrower. It gets the hours and a line about the work from each electrician, then turns that into a billing packet a customer can read, with your bill rate and never your cost rate. If your problem is T&M invoices that get questioned, that is the part that matters.

On price alone Connecteam wins for most small crews. The reason to pay for FieldTimesheet is the billing packet. Run a real week on the free trial, print the packet for one job, and decide whether it saves you an invoice argument.

Frequently Asked Questions

It is if your main job for the software is clean hours and invoice backup a customer can follow. Each clock-out carries a short note about the work, and the billing packet shows date, who worked, what was done, hours, your bill rate and the amount. It is not a replacement if you use Connecteam for scheduling, forms, chat, geofences or a kiosk, which FieldTimesheet does not have.

Connecteam's pricing page, checked October 18, 2026, lists a free Small Business plan for up to 10 users, and paid Operations Hub plans from $29, $49 and $99 per month for the first 30 users, with a per-user charge after that. Confirm current prices with Connecteam. FieldTimesheet's Crew plan is $99 per month for up to 10 workers, and Starter is $39 per month for up to 3, both month to month.

Only if the billing packet is worth it to you. FieldTimesheet turns each electrician's clock-out note into a packet a T&M customer can read: date, who, what was done, hours, bill rate and amount, with cost rates kept off. If your invoices never get questioned, a free general time clock may be all you need.

There is no import tool. You add your active jobs and invite your electricians by email, which takes a few minutes for a small shop. Each electrician opens the invite, sets a password and can clock in the same day.

FieldTimesheet connects to QuickBooks Online only. You click Sync on the Time page to send completed entries as time activities, one way, from FieldTimesheet to QuickBooks. If you are on QuickBooks Desktop, use the CSV export and printed reports instead.

No. GPS is recorded with the clock-in and clock-out punches only. There is no live location view and no geofence. The point is to document the work, not to watch the crew.

The billing packet is the part Connecteam does not list: date, who worked, what was done, hours, bill rate and amount, with the crew's own notes. Look at a sample before you start a trial, then compare plans.
